Tilt Table Testing

A non-invasive test to determine the role of the heart in patients with temporary loss of consciousness.

How to Prepare:

  • Please do not eat or drink for four hours before your appointment.
  • You must be accompanied by another adult.
  • You will have an Intravenous (IV) line inserted in your arm.
  • You will be asked to lie down flat, and will gradually be brought to an upright position. Continuous monitoring of your heart rate and blood pressure will take place by a nurse and a physician.
  • If this part of the exam fails to elicit any symptoms, it will be repeated after the administration of the medication, IV Isuprel.
  • You should expect to spend 2 hours at our facility.
